PaintCheck provides fast, non-destructive, accurate coating measurements on steel and non-ferrous metals.

It is not only paintwork thickness you can measure.

You can also obtain valuable information concerning the coating structure, such as paint top coats or body fillers. When measured thickness value clearly exceeds the standard paintwork thickness, this would indicate the use of filler material for repair work or repainting. Pocket-Surfix Coating Thickness Gauge

Portable Coating Thickness Gauges with an integrated probe.

The Pocket-Surfix®-Series is a compact, lightweight, multifunctional fully menu driven coating thickness gauge for fast, precise, non-destructive coating thickness measurement for varnish, paint and electroplated coatings on iron/steel and varnish, paint and anodizing coatings on non-ferrous metals and on austenitic stainless steels. Measuring Range for the Pocket-Surfix is 0 – 1500µm.

The integrated probe is machined to ultra-high standards and utilizes a unique, hard-metal probe tip which prevents probe wear.

The V-notched foot of the probe provides a stable footing on flat as well as cylindrical and curved surfaces.

Surfix® easy-Series Coating Thickness Gauges provide fast, non-destructive, accurate coating measurements of varnish, paint, enamel, chrome, copper, zinc, etc. on iron/steel (magnetic induction method) and all electrically insulating coatings, such as varnish, paint, anodizing coatings on non-ferrous metals, also on stainless steel (eddy-current method). Measuring range is 0 – 3500µm.

DC Compact Porosity Detector

The DC Compact electric porosity detector is ideal for the detection of pores and faults in dielectric (electrically insulating) coatings such as paint, enamel and plastic coatings on all metals, also on concrete. The material-friendly DC Compact detector has proved itself indispensable on the production line and in the field, for instance in the production of pipelines, storage tanks, pipelines, enameled construction parts for the chemical.

The portable detector basically consists of a fully insulated plastic case and a high-voltage probe with brush. A special harness enables you to keep both hands free to operate the detector and support yourself.

While testing, the DC Compact delivers a low-energy, high DC voltage. Applied voltage is continuously adjustable from 0 -15kV or 0 – 30 kV, according to model. The voltage level depends entirely on test sample coating thickness, which should be measured beforehand to avoid high-voltage damage. The correct applied voltage can then be read off from the coating thickness/voltage table in the DC Compact handbook delivered with every detector. To test for porosity, simply pass the brush slowly – approximately 30 cm/s – over the test surface. Any fault will produce a spark and also a visual and audible alarm. For optimal pore detection, we supply a selection of brushes, including flat brushes and also round brushes for internal and external pore detection on pipes.

TR Series Roughness Gauges

These testers were designed for practical use in the workshop or laboratory to quickly determine roughness parameters Ra and Rz.

The TR200 includes a RS232 interface allowing characteristics and profile presentation to be documented on a PC using the data evaluation program TimeSurf. This program is a practical accessory especially for monitoring and documentation of series products. The user-friendly operation can be either made by menu prompting on the instrument or with TimeSurf on a PC.

Delta TT Series Wall Thickness Gauges

The gauges from the Delta series are precise, compact and easy-to-use ultrasonic thickness gauges. They are not only suitable for measuring wall thickness and residual wall thickness on wear parts, but also for checking the dimensional accuracy of new components.

Five different gauge versions are available to meet your requirements.

The Delta TT series is used within the petrochemical industry, in ship building, in aviation and in many other branches of industry, especially on parts such as tubes or pressure vessels which are susceptible to corrosion and erosion.

Besides the pure determination of wall thickness on different materials, the main field of application is the preventive maintenance and inspection of machines and systems.

The range of materials allowing measurements is varied starting from steel, aluminium, gray cast iron and reaching up to glass, ceramics and plastics.

As all PHYNIX gauges, the Delta TT series stands out due to its high quality, reliability and flexibility.

Cross Hatch Cutters

The cross-cut-test serves the determination of the adhesion of single and multi-coat systems with the underground.

Phynix offer different versions to meet DIN EN ISO 2409 or ASTM D3359-02.

These devices feature:
